The larger skull also has an enlarged nasal cavity, suggesting it had a great sense of smell. The main distinguishing feature of Dromaeosaurus is the rather larger and heavy skull compared to those of other dromaeosaurids, suggesting it relied more on its bite rather than the sickle shaped claws on its feet, though these would have still been used as secondary weapons. A full reconstruction was only possible through study of more well known dromaeosaurids such as Velociraptor. It is a very poorly understood dinosaur, having only one fossil specimen discovered so far which includes part of the skull and foot.
